Theresa Dausch, MA, LMFT, ATR
Theresa Dausch is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist.
She has years of experience working with individuals, children, and families whose lives have been touched by adoption. Taking a collaborative and strengths-based approach to treatment, she provides her clients with the tools they need to create a family life filled with respect, joy, and love. She helps them avoid power struggles and feel closer to each other with the techniques they learn in sessions. While most families experience similar basic challenges, adoptive families can also face issues unique to adoption. Drawing from her extensive experience working with these issues, she can help family members understand each other better and work through the matters that arise. Her work focuses on healthy attachments, trauma resolution, grief and loss issues, and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. Her clientele includes individuals, single-parents, gay and lesbian parents, and children who have been adopted internationally as well as from the foster care system.

She uses an effective blend of traditional psychotherapy, art, yoga, meditation, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing - http://emdr.com/) to help her clients overcome traumatic events, get more out of their lives personally and professionally, and reestablish connections necessary to live fulfilling lives.
